Relaunch of the local Mencap charity website

Although many of you know me as a DJ, my daytime profession is working as an experienced Marketing professional. 

I became involved with this lovely club, Mencap back towards the end of 2021; a non-profit charity that supports local people in the East Sussex area (mainly Newhaven, Peacehaven, Lewes and Seaford) with learning difficulties. These learning difficulties could range from Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy or Down Syndrome.

I have supported the club by donating frequent Quiz and Karaoke sing-a-long events over the past couple of years so that the members have an enjoyable time at the club; which is run on Friday nights 7PM – 9PM at Riverside Hall in Newhaven, East Sussex.

Unfortunately a former volunteer at the club had abused her power by shutting down their Facebook page which the Mencap Newhaven, Lewes & District had worked hard building, so I was tasked with building a new Facebook page which is flourishing today! 

I have since joined Mencap on a voluntary basis as their Marketing person and rebuilt their website which was looking very tired and lacked content. 

The website has some lovely photos of their members from various events over the past year and long-term I plan to keep building on this with lots of news, interactive features and updates of upcoming events published to their followers in the future.
