The other month, I had the privilege to work on a magical evening at Pangdean Barn, near Pycombe in West Sussex, for the PTA – Friends of Great Walstead School. This involved the PTA hosting an enchanting masquerade-themed ball, drawing over 170 friends and parents for a night of elegance, laughter, and unforgettable memories. The event was meticulously planned and beautifully executed, transforming the Pangdean Barn into a scene straight out of a fairy tale.
Great Walstead is a lovely rural area which not only is the grounds for the school, it holds a special place in my heart as both my Mum and Sister are buried there in which we call ‘Mum & Amy’s Garden’.
Setting the Scene
As guests arrived, they were greeted by the stunning sights of the Barn, which had been transformed into a grand ballroom. Twinkling fairy lights adorned the ceilings, and tables were draped with elegenatly, creating an atmosphere of glamour. Each guest was wearing a masquerade mask, adding to the evening’s allure and setting the tone for a night of fun and excitement.
An Evening of Entertainment
The School PTA had organised an evening of entertainment with A.C.Knell Entertainment to keep the guests enthralled throughout the night. As a DJ, known for my energetic and engaging sets, I managed to keep the momentum going, ensuring there was never a dull moment. The dance floor was packed as friends and parents alike showed off their best moves, laughing and cheering each other on.
Delightful Delicacies
No event is complete without delicious food and drink, and the PTA dance did not disappoint. A lavish 3 course meal had been prepared by the chefs at Pangdean Barn, featuring an array of delectable dishes to satisfy all palates. From savoury hors d’oeuvres to sweet desserts, the culinary delights were a highlight of the evening. A well-stocked bar offered a selection of wines, beers, and non-alcoholic beverages, ensuring everyone had their favourite drink in hand.

As I provided FREE evening event photograghy throughout the night, I was able to capture the night’s special moments. From candid shots of friends laughing together to posed photos in front of a beautifully decorated backdrop, the memories of this enchanting evening were preserved in stunning photographs.

The Joy of Community
The masquerade-themed ball was more than just a fun night out; it was a celebration of the vibrant community at Great Walstead School. Parents had the opportunity to socialise and build stronger connections with each other, while also enjoying quality time with friends. The sense of camaraderie and community spirit was palpable, reminding everyone of the importance of these shared experiences.

As the evening drew to a close, it was clear that the PTA dance had been a resounding success. The laughter, dancing, and joyful conversations continued to echo in the hall long after the last song played. Guests left with smiles on their faces, and I am looking forward to the next opportunity to bring everyone together again and celebrate.
