Year 6 Careers Fair Sparks Ambitions at Local West Sussex Primary School

Year 6 Careers Fair - June 2024

The bustling atmosphere at a recent Year 6 Careers Fair held at a local West Sussex primary school was filled with excitement and curiosity as students explored various career paths. Among the standout exhibitors was my business, A.C.Knell Entertainment. As a dynamic company in which I am renowned for an innovative approach to DJing, marketing and radio production, I was delighted to be a part of the Careers Fair. Not only did I manage to captured the imaginations of the young attendees but also ignited a newfound passion for careers in the entertainment industry.

Inspiring the Next Generation of Entertainers

A.C.Knell Entertainment’s stand was a hub of activity throughout the morning event. With state-of-the-art DJ equipment and interactive radio production demonstrations, I provided a hands-on experience that allowed students to delve into the world of entertainment. As someone that specialises in providing the best kids party DJ across Sussex, the Year 6 students, many of whom had never encountered professional DJing or radio production before, were fascinated by the technology and creativity involved.

One student shared his excitement: “I didn’t know DJing could be so cool! I love music, and now I want to learn how to mix tracks like a pro.” Similarly, another student who showed a keen interest in radio production, remarked, “It’s amazing how much work goes into making a radio show. I never thought about all the different roles behind the scenes.”

A.C.Knell Entertainment also offer the ability to learn how to become a DJ, with courses available across West Sussex, also partnering with local music tuition company Discover and Be.

A Diverse Array of Exhibitors

The NHS provided valuable insights into healthcare professions, emphasizing the importance of medical careers and the various pathways to entering the field. Barclays Bank’s representatives discussed opportunities in finance, encouraging students to consider careers in banking and financial management. The West Sussex Fire Brigade was a hit with their Fire Engine on display in the School playground, a therapy dog and explanations about the vital role firefighters play in community safety. A local architect presented the creative and technical aspects of designing buildings, sparking interest in architecture and urban planning.

Rolls Royce, a prestigious car supplier, showcased the engineering marvels behind their luxury vehicles, inspiring future automotive engineers.

The Historic Hotels Group that run Bailiffscourt Hotel & Spa, Ockenden Manor in Cuckfield, both well known to A.C.Knell Entertainment offered a glimpse into the hospitality industry, discussing roles ranging from hotel management to spa therapy.

Encouraging Early Career Exploration

The variety of exhibitors at the Careers Fair ensured that every student could find something that piqued their interest. By engaging with professionals from different fields, the Year 6 students were able to gain a broader understanding of the career opportunities available to them. The event provided the importance of early career exploration, allowing students to start thinking about their futures in a supportive and informative environment.

A Lasting Impact

A.C.Knell Entertainment’s participation in the Careers Fair left a lasting impression on many students. By providing a platform for hands-on learning and real-world insights into the entertainment industry, the company played a crucial role in inspiring the next generation of DJs, radio producers, and entertainers. I was pleased to provide the enthusiasm and expertise highlighted the exciting possibilities within the entertainment sector, motivating students to pursue their passions with confidence, along with the importance on how music can have a positive impact on mental health and well-being.

I was pleased to receive such positive feedback from the Deputy Headteacher:

I just wanted to say a huge thank you for attending today.

Your set up and sounds were brilliant.

The teachers tell me that the children went home buzzing.

We hope you enjoyed it too!

Your time and effort is truly appreciated and we hope you can join us again another time.

As the Year 6 students returned to their classrooms, their minds were now inspired with new ideas and aspirations. The Careers Fair not only broadened their horizons but also laid the foundation for future career ambitions.
