Raising over £170 for Mencap
We were pleased to raise over £170 for Mencap in the Newhaven & Lewes, East Sussex districts.
A.C.Knell Entertainment were proud to donate our Karaoke services free for this event.
Mencap is a charitable organisation and this local club in particular, has been supporting people with learning disabilities and difficulties since 1975.
Originally established by Judy Fryd in 1946, the organisation changed its name to The National Society for Mentally Handicapped Children in 1955, becoming The Royal Society for Mentally Handicapped Children and Adults following patronage from Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother and Elizabeth II in 1981.
Although a National organisation, Mencap Newhaven & Lewes does not reach much support, apart from the generous donations from the local community. This event was run to ensure that it’s members have a place to go moving forward on a Friday Night as kind volunteers are involved with running their ‘Club Nights’.
If you would like to find out more of how you can support this lovely club, visit their Official Facebook Page or Website: http://www.newhavenmencap.org.uk/ for more information.
