Where it all began…
Founder DJ A.C.Knell first took to the scene in September 2002 by getting involved with Plectrum Radio; an instant hit with fellow students and staff at Sussex Downs College in Lewes.
As a big fan of BBC Radio 1 he used the influences of Chris Moyles and Scott Mills to create some entertaining broadcasts diversifying from what was originally a Rock-based radio station into all genres of music!
Running student night’s in Lewes
A.C.Knell was then approached by the landlady of a local pub to begin hosting a student night at The Volunteer Inn, Lewes. Eventually overtime after hosting successful student nights he invested in a good quality PA system, lights and music.
In 2005, his passion for Broadcasting and Entertainment was taken to the next level when he began training as a Radio Presenter at Farnborough College of Technology. A.C.Knell then worked on daytime broadcasts for ECHO 106.8 airing to the county of Hampshire and reading the Travel News on County Sound Radio 1566MW, sister station to 96.4 The Eagle based in Guildford.
A new residency
June 2007 saw the opening of Savannah Cafe Bar, Haywards Heath and A.C.Knell became their first Resident DJ, hosting an array of events from Fancy Dress Discos, Club nights, Karaoke Competitions and Charity Fundraisers. A.C.Knell was key to the bars survival constantly packing the bar out on his nights, whilst a recession loomed around the corner…
Summer 2008 A.C.Knell graduated at the University of Surrey in a BSc (Hons) in Media Production. After working in the America for 4 months at a kids summer camp in up-state New York, A.C.Knell returned to the UK to be booked out for Weddings, Birthday Parties & Karaoke Events across Sussex, Surrey, Kent and Hampshire.
