Dave & Kay celebrating Dave's 70th

Dave’s 70th birthday party, held at The Hare & Hounds pub in Framfield Village, was an event filled with joy, laughter, and Crystal Palace pride. Friends and family gathered to celebrate the milestone, with the theme of the evening honouring Dave’s lifelong love for the Crystal Palace Football Club. A team I am also familiar with as my Dad is also a life-long supporter!

The Hare & Hounds, a charming pub at the heart of the village, set the perfect scene for the celebration. Run by the ever-welcoming Lorraine Currie, the pub was transformed into a haven of red and blue, with decorations celebrating Crystal Palace’s famous colours. Guests were greeted by a warm, inviting atmosphere, making them feel at home from the moment they arrived.

Approximately 40-50 of Dave’s closest friends and family attended the event, creating a lively and intimate gathering. As the night progressed, the energy soared with the help of my business A.C.Knell Entertainment. The highlight of the night was the constant playing of Crystal Palace’s unofficial anthem, “Glad All Over” by Dave Clark Five. The song echoed through the pub, bringing guests to their feet and filling the room with an infectious energy.

From heartfelt toasts to lively dancing, the night was a perfect reflection of Dave’s vibrant personality and his unwavering support for Crystal Palace. The guests enjoyed every moment, dancing the night away to a mix of nostalgic tunes and crowd favourites, all carefully selected to keep the party in full swing.

The event was not just a celebration of Dave’s 70 years but also a testament to the close-knit community of Framfield Village. Lorraine Currie and her team at The Hare & Hounds created the perfect setting, and the attention to detail—especially the Crystal Palace-themed décor—did not go unnoticed.

As the night drew to a close, there was no doubt that Dave was indeed “Glad All Over,” surrounded by those who love him and a football club that has given him years of joy. The event was a smashing success, leaving everyone with fond memories of a special evening.
